Some poems I wrote some time ago
I've had this blog open since July 2025, but I archived all my posts to start anew this February because I felt that the direction I had taken with the blog was not really what I had wanted. Some of the posts were short poems I had written as a capture of some moment or another. I don't mind them as much as I do other posts so I'll publish them all here.
They are meaningful to me because by reading them I may re-live that moment again, or remember it. I don't know what it would seem to you that are reading it, but I do hope you enjoy them. They are nothing grandiose, just tiny captures of the past.

"Summer Rain"
on August 21st, 2025
A summer rain fills the space
with thyme and sage.
Thunders are heard across the hill
but here all is still,
apart from the steam of the tea
that today, too, I drink.

"Resteless Mind"
on September 2nd, 2025
This tired body
but this restless mind
will not let me lie asleep.
The sound of thunder
echoing in the room
brings me peace.
Maybe I will stay here
for a little longer
and quietly study.

"Sunlight"
on September 3rd, 2025
The sunlight filters through the yew,
it illuminates this cold place,
but it cannot warm it.
The sun shines outside the window,
it reflects on the fur of my beloved cat,
but it cannot reach me.
The darkness that lingers behind,
carries in its veil the chaos of voices,
and shatters everything that was whole.

"Wind"
on September 5th, 2025
The wind that creates ripples in the lake,
brushes against the skin.
The turmoil of the water,
the stillness of the mountain,
are mind and body.

"Beloved Lisbon"
on October 31st, 2025
My beloved Lisbon,
These white skies reflect
The light that shines above you.
The strong wind that surrounds you,
Is dispersed along your streets
That still remain so brightly colored.
These places that are now so familiar to me
I hope you can keep them in your heart
For when, again, I return to you.
