If you'd look at my calendar for the past 2 and a half months you'd think I was some important figure or something.
Things are happening, some for choice, some unwillingly, but they are all happening this year. And in the midst of all this happening, I can't wait for 2027 to arrive where, hopefully, nothing much will happen.
I am going abroad to study. I will be gone for 5 months. Unlike traveling in Europe, the documents required to stay in China are many more and I've been running around trying to get everything ready. Health certificates that require privately-paid visits, tribunal documents, university forms to fill. It feels never ending, and it fact I haven't finished them yet.
Tomorrow morning I will be traveling 3 hours to ask for my study visa. I got everything ready, printed my documents, only to prepare them tonight and discover that they forgot to print one of them. So, even if I try to be ready something small always ends up happening to make things a little more difficult.
For example, just some days ago my computer broke down. I opened the lid of my laptop and it just decided to fall apart from the keyboard. Of course, I brought it to be repaired. It works, and that will have to do for now.
Why did I not print the documents earlier? Well my computer was under repair, and after having a busy weekend all I wanted to do Monday after work was nothing, so I left things for Tuesday, which is today.
Last month, I failed my Chinese 1 exam. This means I won't be able to have the course I will be taking in China recognized as credits, as per my university rules. Maybe if I hadn't given up halfway through studying. Why did I give up? Ah, I was busy working, and preparing the documents for the travel, and helping with my brother's wedding, and taking the dog to the vet, and taking the cats to the vet.
That's right, my cat is dying.
Dante has chronic kidney disease, he is 15. I've brought him for a week to get IV drips. I left him with the vets in the morning and picked him up at night. I had to ask for help some days to get him there, and for some reason that was even more stressful for me than getting him there myself. He is better now, but his condition is already advanced. He probably won't survive 6 more months. He will need special care while I am away. He, who is like my shadow and follows me whenever I go. Why did I not bring him to the vet for a checkup before?
Ah, I guess I was busy. This is all so stupid.
